A BBC Information, post, exposed that there's been a rise in the amount of younger boys admitted to hospital for self harm.
The post went on to mention that these figures could be a lot worse because the key nature self harm  has, which younger boys are less likely to come back forward with issues of self harm due to them viewing self harm as a predominantly a young female issue. A spokesman for UK web site SELF harm got.co.uk. Spoke of the fact that children are likely to be influenced by the things they browse on the Internet .
The World Health Organization is due to release a report in 2015 which is expected to show an increase in the number of teenagers who are self harming; experts anticipate this level to have possible  tripled over the last decade in England.
This month, the coalition government announced it will increase expense to 100 million in mental health treatment for young individuals, over the following five years. The government intent would be to make it easier for young individuals to access expert help in their community.
Talking in the report the care minister Norman Lamb stated “Self harm was an indication of great emotional distress and is critical that younger people obtain the help they require”.

Among the suggestions in the report suggests that schools and colleges must do much more, to assist students, who are self harming. 6,000 teenagers, with a few as young as eleven had been integrated within the Health Conduct in School Aged Children report. Which cited that 22% of the 15-year-old sampled stated that they harm themselves on purpose. With 43% stated stating a self harmed once a month.
